AGi32 Training
Lighting Analysts, the developers of Agi32, have enlisted Dr. Bernecker to serve as one of its regional trainers to deliver a two-day basics course on AGi32. Dr. Bernecker has or will be offering the course in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington/Baltimore, Boston, and Cleveland. In the Fall 2008, Dr. Bernecker was appointed Associate Professor of Lighting Design in the Master of Fine Arts in Lighting program at Parsons The New School for Design. In the Fall he taught two core courses, Principles of Lighting and Lighting Studio 1, and in the Spring is teaching Light, Perception, and Culture. Parsons is the only dedicated lighting degree program in North America, offering a two-year Masters Degree in Lighting Design. LIGHTFAIR International Conference Advisory Committee
Dr. Bernecker is once again serving as Educational Facilitator to the 2009 LIGHTFAIR Conference Advisory Committee, a role he has filled for the past five years. The CAC is responsbile for developing the Call for Speakers, reviewing submissions, and recommending the final program for LIGHTFAIR 2009. Dr. Bernecker advises a group of volunteers from the IESNA and IALD that form the committee, along with working with LIGHTFAIR staff to help develop the conference program. He also reviews each seminar at LIGHTFAIR as a measure of "quality control," supplementing attendee and CAC evaluations.
LIGHTFAIR International Speaker
Dr. Bernecker will be teaching the two-day Intermediate Lighting course as a part of LIGHTFAIR Institute in 2009. The two-day course will be offered on May 3 and 4 at the Javits Center, site of LIGHTFAIR 2009.
Dr. Bernecker will also be presenting a New Attendee Orientation on May 5, and a Lamp and Ballast Basics seminar on May 6. For more information, please visit lightfair.com.
